Certification Process
1. Join
2. Choose (a lab)
Thread Group members have access to a global network of leading, independent Authorized Test Labs (ATLs), many of which are also approved testing providers for complementary networking technologies such as Matter, BLE, and Wi-Fi. Check the ATL page for a listing of all test providers and find the best deal for your needs!
3. Apply
A certification application must be submitted to Thread Group; this allows for validation of the correct
logo (component or end product) being sought and the testing selections which the product must undergo.
4. Submit
Once the application has been approved and a testing appointment has been scheduled with the ATL, it’s time to send or take the product to the lab.
5. Test
The ATL carries out all required tests on the product using the Thread test harness software and the Thread reference devices.
6. Review
After testing is finished, Thread Group reviews the results to confirm completeness and accuracy. Additional data reviews, data collection and/or test analysis may be carried out as required to resolve all open questions/concerns.
7. Certify
Product certification is granted after testing has concluded with a favorable outcome. Upon the granting of certification, a formal certificate is issued for the product, and the appropriate Thread Certified product logo (Thread Certified Component or Built on Thread) is provided for marketing use with the product, if desired. Display of a Thread Certification logo is subject to usage guidelines.
